On the issues
From the roads we drive on to the water we rely on, our county government shapes much of our daily life. Protecting parks and open spaces, providing human services, making development decisions, and the ethical stewardship of taxpayer dollars require leadership with integrity, transparency, and common sense.
My priorities are grounded in a simple belief. When people and families have the opportunity to thrive, our communities grow stronger. And when county government communicates openly, plans responsibly and uses public resources wisely, we can preserve our quality of life while building a future that works for everyone.
Explore my approach to six priorities that will guide my service as county commissioner.

Good Governance
County government works best when residents can see how decisions are made, understand how their money is being spent, and speak directly to the people elected to represent them.
I will work to restore meaningful public comment, make meetings and records easier to access, strengthen ethical safeguards and ensure residents have a genuine voice before major decisions are made.
Restore Trust in County government Vibrant Communities
Douglas County should be a place where people can build stable lives, find meaningful work, raise families, remain connected as they age, and get help before a challenge becomes a crisis.
I will support workforce development, childcare access, youth mental health services, human services coordination, support for older adults, and partnerships that help residents belong, contribute, and thrive.
A County Where Everyone Can ThriveSmart Growth
Growth should fit the community, infrastructure should come first, developers should pay their fair share, and residents should have a real voice before decisions are made.
I will work to protect water, wildlife, open space and community character; oppose backdoor development and jurisdiction shopping; and enact a moratorium on large-scale data-center approvals until Douglas County adopts strong, enforceable standards.
Plan for growth. Protect what matters.Public Safety
Strong public safety requires well-supported first responders, reliable infrastructure, effective emergency planning, and prevention strategies that reduce avoidable crises.
I do not support defunding law enforcement. I support giving first responders the staffing, training and equipment they need while investing in behavioral-health response, wildfire mitigation, school-safety partnerships, safe evacuation routes and protections for privacy and civil liberties.
Prevention, Preparedness and TrustFiscal Stewardship
Fiscal responsibility is about more than balancing a budget. It requires ethical judgment, clear priorities, and complete transparency about how taxpayer dollars are used.
I will protect essential services, scrutinize major projects and debt, publish an understandable public spending ledger and ensure residents do not have to file a records request simply to learn how their money was spent.

Infrastructure connects residents with jobs and services, helps first responders reach emergencies and determines whether communities can grow safely and sustainably.
I will prioritize safer roads, emergency access, long-term water planning, responsible maintenance, broadband access, practical transportation choices, electric-vehicle readiness and a diverse, resilient energy system prepared for the future.
